Requirements
Patents - 20 years
- Power of Attorney (notarization and legalization are not required).
- Specifications, claims and drawings. If the text is in English or another language, one copy is required for its translation.
- If there are drawings, one A4-size copy is required.
- If priority is claimed, a certified copy of the foreign application authenticated by the Patent Office is required.
- Assignment from the inventor(s) duly legalized up to Peruvian Consul or apostilled.
The application may be filed without documents a) and e). It is possible to request a period of 2 months from the application date to file documents a) and e) to the Patent Office.
Trademarks of Goods and Services – 10 years
- Power of Attorney (notarization and legalization are not required).
- Complete list of goods and/or services to be registered. It is possible to file multi-class applications. (International classification is in force in Peru)
- Labels: If the trademark has a logo, special design or colours, a sample is required. Size (maximum): 5 x 5.
In accordance with Decision 486 of the Andean Community, it is not necessary to submit proof of use in the case of renewals with the exception of commercial names.
